Enter the Kenyon Review Short Fiction Contest!

cropped-dsc01363.jpgThe Kenyon Review Short Fiction Contest is open for short story submissions between February 1 and March 1, 2014. It is sponsored by Kenyon College in Ohio.

Stories must be 1200 words or less. The contest is open to any author who has not published a book of fiction or a collection of short stories. (Self published doesn’t count for this).

The first place winner gets paid tuition to attend the June 2014 Writers Workshop in Gambier, Ohio. First, second, and third place winners are all published in the Kenyon Review. (Hmmm, what happens to everyone else?)

The contest fee is $18, but it includes a one year subscription to the Kenyon Review. You can check out the guidelines and read the stories of previous years’ winners on their website:

Good luck!

. . . and I’ve already finished my story, just polishing it up and trying to scrape up the $18.

Update:  I submitted my story to the Kenyon Review Short Fiction Contest! I will keep you posted. If I win something—anything—please—anything—I’ll post a link here. If I don’t win anything, I may submit my story elsewhere, or post it here on Capitare a Fagiolo.
